Let’s Sing Academy is run by Eleanor Mottershead who provides all the training for private vocal tuition and group classes for Let’s Sing Academy.
Eleanor is a singer and vocal coach from Glossop, Derbyshire. She has much experience performing in concert as a professional vocalist across a variety of venues as well as appearances at private functions.
As a singing leader, she has a great interest in music within the community which is how Let's Sing was first developed. She recognised that singing can have many benefits on mental and physical health and has used the idea of singing for pleasure and enjoyment to drive many of the workshops she leads.
In addition to running Let's Sing Academy, Eleanor works for various theatre schools as an individual vocal tutor and group singing coach: Limelight Musical Theatre & Footlights Didsbury; as a peripatetic music (vocals) tutor at Stretford High School; and as an independent singing tutor at the Institute of Contemporary Theatre. In these roles, Eleanor has lead the musical direction for their productions as well as delivering individual and group singing lessons.
Eleanor completed undergraduate studies in music and musical theatre at University of Chichester and Buckinghamshire New University, graduating with BA (Hons) Musical Theatre. She has completed her Music Theatre Teaching Diploma with London College of Music (LCM), passing at the upper level. She keeps up to date with the latest developments in voice science by attending courses and workshops across the country and by reading and researching all she can on the subject. Most recently, Eleanor continued her teacher training by studying for a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) as a singing subject specialist for post-14 learners. Following this, Eleanor hopes to further her knowledge with Masters studies in Vocal Pedagogy.
Eleanor is a member of the SoundSense Union and the Association of Teachers of Singing.
